Modern’s Day Slavery
Human
trafficking is the cruelest crime ever. Although all the laws have been
applied, but human trafficking still exist. Indonesia is the country of origin
of trafficking abroad. Most of them are woman.,
In the US
State Department’s annual report on trafficking in person in 2011 Indonesia
entered the second tier in the protection of victims. Estimates that 20% of
Indonesian workers (TKI) who works abroad are victims of human trafficking. 69%
of Indonesian workers who works abroad are woman.
Based on
IOM ( International Organization for Migration) data 70% of the human
trafficking mode in Indonesia starts from sending illegal workers abroad.
Unicef estimated it’s about 100.000 woman and children in Indonesia traded
every years just for commercial sex.
And also
about 30% of CSW ( Commercial Sex Workers) in Indonesia are under 18 years old,
40.000-70.000 child becomes victim of agency exploitation. Human trafficking is
a form of modern slavery both inside and outside the country.
